The Band Members Are - Singers



KLÁRA BRABNÍKOVÁ (*1979) - 1st soprano
She graduated as a singer from the State Conservatoire in Teplice. She is currently studying General Music at the School of Education at Charles University, Prague. She is a member of the Vycpálek's Folk and Dance Ensemble and of the Juventus Paedagogica Choir. She teaches young singers at the Elementary Music School in Rumburk. She has been a member of the LINHA SINGERS since 2003.
PAVLA JEŽKOVÁ (*1976) - 2nd soprano
She graduated as a singer from the Ježek's Conservatoire in Prague. She majored in General Music and Conducting at the School of Education at Charles University, Prague. She currently teaches at the Vocal and Musical Department of the Ježek's Conservatoire in Prague, and is also the artistic leader and choir -master of the Ensemble Guillaume and Collegium Cantantium choirs. As a solo singer, she gives ancient music concerts both in the Czech Republic and abroad. She has been a member of the LINHA SINGERS since 2003.
Marie Kratochvílová (*1967) - 2nd soprano
She graduated as a singer from the State Conservatoire in Teplice. In 1996, she completed a half-year sojourn at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basil, Switzerland, organized by prof. Ulrich Mesthaller (specialized in songs of the 18th and 19th centuries). She is continuing her studies privately with prof. M. Urbanová. She is currently a member of, and frequently on tour abroad with, the Prague Chamber Choir.
MARTA MARINOVÁ (*1967) - 1st alto
After graduating from the Grammar School in Brandýs nad Labem, she continued her studies at the School of Education at Charles University, Prague (General Music). She has also completed her studies as a singer and composer at the Ježek's Conservatoire in Prague. Up until 1992, she cooperated with the Youth Brass Band (percussions); Chamber Orchestra of the School of Education at Charles University (violin); women's choir Juventus Paedagogica (alto); and the Main Street Band (jazz vocal). She currently performs with her own band, the Big Band Trumpets (swing), and is a member of the Sklep Theater (vocal, violin), and cooperates with the Musica Fresca ensemble (vocal, historic instruments), and The Cotton Gang (jazz of the 20's and 30's). She has been a member of the LINHA SINGERS since 1992.
JITKA RYDVALOVÁ (*1953) - 2nd alto
She studied at the Teachers Training College in Prachatice where she also started working as a teacher at Elementary Music School. During her studies, she won a regional vocalists' contest 4 times, which was decisive for her further career. She spent two years as a vocalist with the Army Artistic Ensemble and then continued to cooperate with a number of Prague-based dance or jazz bands. She sang with the bands of K. Vlach, F. Havlík, V. Zahradník, Kamil Hála and F. Slováček She was a member of the Hot Tety vocal trio for 7 years. After 12 years of practice, she graduated as a vocalist from the State Conservatoire in Prague. She has been a member of the LINHA SINGERS since 1992.

PETR JINDRA (*1964) - tenor
He is a graduate of the School of Education at Charles University, Prague. Early in his youth and during his studies at the School of Education, he focused mainly on various genres of instrumental music. Later, he also graduated as a vocalist from the Ježek's Conservatoire in Prague. He has been a long time guest-member of the Prague Chamber Orchestra, Prague Philharmonic Choir, Kuhn's Mixed Choir and the Choir of the Prague State Opera. He is also a member of the Swings vocal group, and leads his own vocal quartet YO! He has been a member of the LINHA SINGERS (with several breaks) since 1986.

KAREL ZOCHR (*1964) - bass
He is a graduate of the School of Education at Palackého University, Olomouc (General Music). Until 1996, he was a singer at the Olomouc State Opera, the Army Artistic Ensemble, and the Czech Radio Choir. He currently cooperates mainly with the Prague Chamber Orchestra and the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been a member of the LINHA SINGERS since 1998.
